"Everything is related to everything else, but near things are more related than distant things"
ABOUT ME
As GIS Administrator for the Town of Cary, NC, I lead Cary's enterprise geospatial ecosystem, supporting more than 1,200 users and enabling data-driven decision-making across departments. My expertise spans enterprise GIS architecture, complex geospatial data models, AI- and deep learning-driven spatial analytics, smart city initiatives, real-time geospatial data integration, location intelligence and cloud-native GIS platforms. I also serve as a committee member of the North Carolina ArcGIS Users Group (NCAUG), contributing to the advancement of geospatial technologies and best practices across North Carolina.
I hold a GISP certification along with a PhD in Earth Sciences/GIS and Urban Planning. I am a former GIS Manager for Cumberland County. My background includes designing scalable GIS platforms, advancing automation and geoprocessing workflows, and supporting critical public safety systems such as CAD and NG9-1-1 integrations. I have deep expertise in the Esri ecosystem and supporting technologies, including Python, ArcPy, SQL, and web-based geospatial solutions.
I maintain an active research portfolio with 2 published book chapters and 27 peer-reviewed publications, reflecting my ability to bridge advanced geospatial theory with practical, real-world applications that support informed, data-driven decision-making.
I am also a reviewer of high-impact academic journals, including TGIS-Transactions in GIS and Frontiers in Sustainable Cities. Previously, I served on the patents committee and worked as a university lecturer. Despite a busy professional schedule, I enjoy hiking and landscape photography, particularly using drones. In 2015, I was honored as the winner of the photo contest at the Indonesian Cultural Exhibition.
